This was originally a Session at the 2019 Knowledge of Man Retreat, and it was one of the most robust conversations we've ever had at a Retreat, and afterwards, so I knew I needed to give it as a digital workshop and it was again a great conversation!
We discussed what Mason calls a "rational well-considered patriotism" and how to foster it authentically and naturally, making it a part of a child's character rather than a list of talking points.
We discussed Citizenship for Elementary, Middle, and High School and the various elements Mason used for this subject (Civics, Cultural Studies, Plutarch, Character, etc) and we also did an Immersion lesson for Plutarch.
