Delighting in Song and Tale is a 12-week multifaceted study of Fairy Tales and a corresponding Folk Song.
Each unit takes a deep dive into a fairy tale, exploring it’s version throughout history and around the world.
Each week, you’re provided with a version of the Tale, vocabulary words, discussion questions, and mapping exercises. Each week also provides a study of literary elements, in context of the Tale, and a Cultural Connection for exploring the countries that have contributed a version of the Fairy Tale.
In addition to the study of the Tale, the unit follows the Delightfully Feasting Folk Song schedule, and provides the discussion, narration prompts, variations, and history for a thorough study of a folk song.
This unit can be used in several ways, and provides elements of study for each age group to use according to their abilities and needs. The materials provided can serve as your Tales, Folk Songs, Literature, Cultural Studies, Geography, Mapping, and Language Arts lessons each week. Delighting in Tale and Song is a meaningful, thorough, rich look at fairy tales and folk songs with a myriad of additional elements and materials to maximize your time spent studying each Tale and Song.
