Delighting in the World takes a living and delightful approach to geography, immersing learners in the world around them and avoiding the “drill” approach to learning the location of places. In Delighting in the World, students “travel” the world becoming familiar with one area at a time, focused upon its geography, culture, and natural history. In Rivers, a river is explored each week, and students spend time exploring the cultures, historical events, people, and natural wonders of the river and its country.
Each week, students read about a River and a Country, do some mapping, narrate in their Student Journals and become familiar with the world through a selection of extension activities.
