Delighting in the World takes a living and delightful approach to geography, immersing learners in the world around them and avoiding the “drill” approach to learning the location of places. In Delighting in the World, students “travel” the united states, becoming familiar with one state of the time, focused upon the nation’s parks. Each week, a national park is explored, and students spend time exploring the cultures, historical events, people, and natural wonders of the park’s state.
Each week, students read about a National Park and/or a state, do some mapping, and become familiar with the state through a selection of extension activities.
